Who you are

  • 7-10 years of experience as an engineer and architect
  • 1 year of experience as tech- or team lead and/or experience in being main responsible for business critical (cloud) platforms
  • Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, Databases, Observability
  • Experience with scale in/on web
  • Strong soft skills

What the job involves

  • In the role as Engineering Manager Cloud and Infra team we are looking for a leader that is still technically (Heavily) involved
  • The team is a small cell with senior engineers, responsible for hosting the website (the core service of the company) on AWS with a 99.999% uptime dependency and strong focus on scalability and global efficiency (distributed set-up)
  • In this position you will divide your time in: leading 3 direct reports in daily operations and growth, be the spokesperson for the Cloud team towards the MT and technical stakeholders, participate hands-on in architecture and engineering tasks, safeguard the roadmap and take responsibility for the platform performance (highly critical)
  • Take ownership of a critical platform, drive innovations and help your team members grow!
  • Work in an international environment, with a lot of freedom and flexibility, but also people that strive for progress and growth!

Application process

  • First, there is an screening call with our TA Partner to get to know you better
  • If that goes well, you will have an interview with either the CTO or the EM on Cloud & Infra and Build & Deploy
  • After that you'll make a assignment and perform a live system design interview
  • The final step in the process is an interview with the CTO or the EM

The founders of Studocu have created a platform that allows students to share notes, resources, and study materials, that holds materials from thousands of universities across the world.

With 60 million users every month accessing the platform, there is undeniable demand for Studocu's services. Much of the company's popularity may be ascribed to its freemium model, which keeps 80% of its content free to access, reserving the top rated 20% for premium account holders. Interestingly, premium accounts do not necessarily require payment, as users can earn 14 days of full premium access for uploading their own study materials.

Studocu has seen impressive investment, which fuelled the expansion of its presence in the US and the wider world - with its resources now covering institutions in over 100 countries. The company's acquisition of Studybees, its German counterpart, will enable it to accelerate growth in the German market, which has been a key area and hence a promising target for securing further success.
