What the job involves

  • Building and maintaining tools that automatically search, book, and manage the best delivery services
  • Maintaining micro-services using TypeScript and Node.js
  • Managing databases with Postgres
  • Handling asynchronous messaging with RabbitMQ
  • Running and optimising our infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
  • Managing and enhancing our CI/CD pipelines with CircleCI and GitHub Actions
  • Transforming a complex architecture into a streamlined system
  • Build new features as well as improving existing ones

Orkestro was founded as a result of frustration with traditional delivery services, which have a limited supply of couriers and vehicles, lack of end-customer tracking, inefficient manual entry of order details and poor delivery management. Instead, Orkestro provides unlimited access to all couriers and vehicles, bespoke tracking, delivery operations management, and integration with all order platforms.

Fundamentally, it connects online retailers with on-demand local couriers, using business-to-business delivery processes to reduce costs and increase speed of delivery. This allows businesses to track their deliveries in real time and rapidly scale delivery operations, improving the customer experience.

In addition to the fully-managed service, Orkestro is able to aggregate customer orders from multiple platforms to access customer and operational data, and features developer-friendly APIs to allow custom development. Orkestro's success has attracted enough funding to keep fuelling its growth in London, and in the coming years it is focusing on expanding its footprint in new markets.
