We are also very open to using new tools and technologies, as long as there's a use-case then there's zero barrier to taking the time to learn something new for the benefit it brings.

Everyone has a sense of ownership and responsibility here, we're trusted to make the pragmatic call in terms of what we choose to work on. If someone sees a problem they don't just highlight it, they highlight it and fix it!

Everyone is expected to give opinions around how we can build the best product possible, both across teams and across disciplines. The culture is heavily driven around instant feedback, and opinions are encouraged. One way we forge this mentality is that all new engineers integrate with the Primer platform as their first task, so they can think like an external developer and critique our developer experience.

The level of excitement and innovation is really unmatched. Although we're remote, this is by far the strongest most supportive team I've been part of. There's this culture of problem-solving and abstraction that makes me feel like tackling the payment integration problems of today is just the beginning of a much greater mission of redefining the entire online API infrastructure. Everyone across the company are just super excited about building out the many things we set out to do, and since there is so much input from everyone, we all have a lot of ambition about what it is that we are working on. The best part is that, even though there is so much forward momentum, everyone in my team when it comes down to it are just really nice people and will always check in to make sure I'm doing all right.

9 months ago there was basically nothing. Now there are more than 20 people and we are constantly scaling our ambition within the team. Joining Primer at this time feels like an incredible chance to own some pretty large product areas going forward + there is so much opportunity to pitch & explore other areas of the business. At Primer the open and honest communication is a core value. Everyone is encouraged to provide feedback to anything they see and think can be improved. All conversations happen in public channels, so anyone can see and keep up. Furthermore, we have weekly call about our current sales pipeline, presenting new potential clients, their pain points and how we at Primer can solve them. Funding is also openly communicated and we also get to know and speak to the investors.

At Primer it doesn't matter what your "title/position" is. If you have valuable feedback, it's taken into account and incorporated. It's quite common for "backend" people to comment on newest UI designs and for "frontend" people to comment on best API practices for example. Furthermore, everyone is encouraged to come up with best approach to our challenges and implement them. We also regularly revisit what's working, what should be improved and act upon the results.

The team at Primer is constantly pushing all kinds of boundaries - there's always a better way to do things. It's amazing if you like being pushed far out of your comfort zone. The result will be the best work you've ever done.
