Our take
Established in 2012, Urban Sports Club is a platform that makes sports and fitness achievable for all. The company aims to re-shape the future of sport, focusing on the future of hybrid sports models.
Realizing they had the desire to perform different sports at different venues - but that membership options limited this - founders Moritz Kreppel and Benjamin Roth developed Urban Sports Club, where users can combine different sports, checking in and training at more than 12,000 partner venues across Europe.
A 2024 buyout by Qualitas Funds helped to maintain Urban Sports Funds' position as a subscription service. The company has also released a B2B "corporate fitness" offering, to promote better employee health, with clients including Barilla and Denk Werk.

Benjamin Roth
(Co-CEO)Benjamin holds a master’s degree in business administration from Western Illinois University and before that studied economics at the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität. Before founding Urban Sports Club in 2012, they were a part of the management of the Frankfurt based company HPP - Harnischfeger, Pietsch & Partner strategic and marketing consultancy.
Moritz Kreppel
(Co-CEO)After gaining a degree in Social and Political Science from the University of Cambridge, Mortiz then achieved an MSc in International relations from the London School of Economics. Moritz has had a number of roles including Trainee at the Secretariat General at the European Commission, Parliamentary Assistant at the European Parliament and Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.
