Founded in 2012, Turkish-born Gram Games is a global mobile game company that has created popular games including 1010!, Six!, Merged!, and Bounzy! What started as an indie studio experiencing financial crisis has become a multi-million dollar business.
The turn occurred due to Gram’s unique and innovative approach to gaming, producing content with IAP-monetized opposed to ad-monetized hyper-casual titles, bringing a previously unseen depth compared to typical games of this kind. The company was acquired by game developer Zynga and exists as an independent studio within the company, thereby receiving the expertise and support from Zynga without sacrificing creative license.
Zynga was acquired by Take-Two Interactive in 2022 for a staggering $12.7 billion, the biggest acquisition in the history of the games industry. This acquisition, coupled with Gram Games’ change of CEO means that it will be interesting to see how the company develops new games and stories moving forward.
