Who you are
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiar with building scalable solutions while understanding the big picture of the solution you are building
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI/ML, Math, Statistics, Data Science
- Bachelor’s 3rd year+ (Preferred)
- SQL: 1 year (Preferred)
- Business Analysis: 1 year (Preferred)
- Software troubleshooting: 1 year (Preferred)
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software

What the job involves
- This posting is for students enrolled at UofT and eligible for a 12 month PEY/ ASIP eligible placement
- We are looking for a passionate student to join our highly collaborative Data & Analytics team for a 12 month co-op term
- This is a rotation within our Data & Analytics group, where you’ll get to work with our team of Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers
- The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a valuable team member and contribute towards turning data into information, information into insights and insights into business decisions
- You’ll be conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design, developing analysis and reporting capabilities, and monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Assist in the implementation of new software
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
