Role
Who you are
- Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficiency in using Solidworks to create complex designs and assemblies tailored for high-volume manufacturing processes
- Strong skills in metrology, including the ability to accurately measure and validate parts to ensure they meet stringent design specifications and quality standards
- Experience in effective vendor collaboration; communicating design requirements, overseeing manufacturing processes, and ensuring quality compliance
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
- Ability to effectively interpret and communicate complex data and results to colleagues with varying levels of technical understanding
- Ability to prioritize and make progress on multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining focus on project goals in an iterative work environment
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
What the job involves
- Collaborate closely with simulation engineers, providing necessary input conditions for FEA and other simulations, and interpreting results to guide and optimize medical device design
- Utilize SolidWorks to design and refine medical devices, ensuring compatibility with high-volume manufacturing processes like injection molding and stamping, while meeting functional and manufacturability requirements
- Engage actively with hardware engineers and physicists, incorporating their feedback and understanding design trade-offs to develop efficient and effective medical device solutions
- Generate comprehensive technical drawings and specifications for medical device components and assemblies, ensuring adherence to industry standards and suitability for specific application requirements
- Document design processes and decisions, maintaining records of analysis and testing outcomes
- Communicate progress and technical challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The company's offering consists of a wearable device that allows users to monitor their metabolite concentrations through a miniaturised magnetic resonance system. It uses the same underlying principle as in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and is able to detect concentrations of metabolites such as glucose and lactate in real time.
