A global effort is invested in mitigating global climate change, with an increasing number of countries starting to impose fines for companies that fail to reduce their carbon emissions. One of the main issues faced by these companies is the lack of technology available able to track emissions and monitor progress after adopting solutions to diminish climate impact. CarbonChain aims to solve this problem by offering a service that provides accurate accounting for a company’s carbon footprint.
The company differentiates itself through the fact that it aims to help companies from the world's most polluting industries - oil & gas, mining, metals, minerals, and agriculture - which account for 50% of global greenhouse gas emissions. The innovation of CarbonChain comes from the fact that the company has created digital twins of every piece of equipment used in the aforementioned industries; if it cannot find information about the equipment used by a company, it is able to find answers by contacting the producer of that equipment directly.
Founded by ex-employees of gas, mining and oil industries, CarbonChain is led by an expert team. Having established its current services, future phases include features that will allow customers to access their ratings based on industry benchmarks and reported data. The company will also take into consideration customers' future carbon plans to ascertain a more comprehensive picture.
