The skills required in the workplace are changing as more companies become technology-focused. Digital marketing, software engineering, product design and data analysis are the careers of the future.
No longer do you have to go to university to learn these skills. Coding schools (such as Makers Academy and General Assembly) have shown that you no longer need a Computer Science degree to be a software engineer.
Apprenticeships are very suitable as an alternative pathway to prepare young people with career-relevant skills. The government has recognised this and introduced a levy in 2016 that forces companies to invest in apprentices. Multiverse (formally WhiteHat) timed its launch perfectly, using the introduction of the levy to ignite excitement around apprenticeships.
It has previously been voted ‘Training Provider of the Year’ by apprentices, and partners with leading companies like Google, Facebook and BP to match apprenticeships with incredible career opportunities. Over 1,000 young people apply to join Multiverse’s programme each week, and its using its substantial fundraises to expand throughout the UK.
